This old Martin might be more famous than you realize.  As a member of the Kentucky Colonels, Clarence White played it on the Andy Griffith Show.  He also played it as a member of "The Bird's."  And how this guitar got into the hands of Tony Rice is a whole saga on it's own.

This Beautiful Guitar has been used

This guitar, owned by Clarence White is now owned by Tony Rice.  It has also been played by Jerry Garcia--hear it on "The Pizza Tapes."

1935 D-28

Someone shot one of the World's most renowned Martins with a pellet gun.  Repair by Clarence White.  Did you notice this in yesterday's post?

Other than Hank William's D-28 now owned by Neil Young, this is probably the most well known D-28 ever.  It is the only guitar I have ever heard of that is well known by Serial Number.

What do you love about this photo?  First you gotta love Emmy Lou and the music.  And how about that jacket.  Of course the J-200 stands by itself...But..the kicker is using the iPad as a cup holder.  How cool is that?  Emmy Lou don't need to see no stinking lyrics on no iPad!!
