Don and Phil's Guitars
I have only seen one guitar like this in a music store. Winnipeg in the 60's and it was under $800. Obviously I did not have the bread back then. But if you see one of these now for that price, call me!!

Everly Brothers J-200s
Don and Phil started off playing J-200s, but they were going through a pair of them monthly by banging into each other, hitting the mike stand and Phil was known to throw his guitar towards a roadie after breaking a string. This pair with the double chamois pick guards would soon morph into the J-185EB which was a little thinner and a little more robust. I am pretty certain Don's guitar is now owned by Albert Lee. Albert probably owns more Everly guitars than anyone else, including Don!!

Don's Southern Jumbo
The Everly's used SJ's to record because the J-200's and later the J-185's boomed. My solution is to use light strings on the J-200. Good phosphor bronze lights still give you that J-200 jumbo sound while keeping it easier to record.

Gordon Lightfoot
Gordon was the Man in Toronto in the '60's. I was in Winnipeg at the time, and we were the Musical Capitol of North America. We had the Guess Who and Lenny!!

Soundhole Sunday
If you've ever played one of these unplugged, then you will realize that this is indeed a sound hole!! Not the most resonate soundhole, but none the less a genuine functioning soundhole!!
